Information

In aquaculture, bleaching powder is mainly used in pond disinfection and prevention and treatment of bacterial fish disease.

1. Pond cleaning and disinfection. The general dosage is 20-30 grams per cubic meter of water. Dissolve the bleach powder with water first, and then sprinkle the whole pool, which can kill aquatic insects, frog eggs, fish, spiral snails and various fish disease pathogens in the water body.

2. Prevention and control of diseases. The use of bleach powder to prevent fish disease, in the occurrence of fish disease or epidemic season, generally per cubic meter of water with 1-3 grams of drugs, dissolved in water after the whole pool sprinkle, every other day once, two consecutive times, can treat fish rotten gill disease, white skin disease, white head and mouth disease, vertical scale disease, enteritis and so on. Whether it is used for pond cleaning or for treating fish disease, the bleaching powder meets the requirements of ecological aquaculture and pollution-free aquaculture of aquatic products.

1. Quantitative sampling method. Before application, the effective chlorine content of the bleaching powder must be sampled to determine the amount of use. The effective chlorine content of bleach powder can be determined by blue black ink titration. In the prevention and treatment of fish diseases, the effective chlorine content of bleach powder is required to reach 30%, and the amount of medicine used per cubic meter of water is generally 1-2 grams.

2, dissolve filter sprinkling method. When using bleach powder to prevent fish disease, regardless of the size of the pond and the amount of medicine used, it must be dissolved in water first, filter the residue, and then sprinkle the whole pond to prevent fish from swallowing bleach powder by mistake and causing dead fish.

3. Treatment course application method. Use bleaching powder to prevent fish disease, must adhere to the course of application. Generally, a course of treatment is 3-5 days, that is, after applying bleach powder on the first day, the second time is used at an interval of 1 day, and the continuous application is 2-3 times.

Generally, the application effect is good when the water in the clear water pond or pool is neutral or slightly alkaline. Therefore, before applying bleaching powder to prevent fish disease, water quality can be adjusted with 10 to 15 kilograms of quick lime per mu of water depth of 1 meter, and then apply bleaching powder.

Fill the empty pool with water, clean the pool with bleach powder for disinfection, and evenly sprinkle more than 20 grams per square meter (13.33 kg per mu) into the pool. After a day or two, let the water out. In order to promote the oxidation of the mud on the bottom of the pool, the bottom of the pool is raked over and the sun is exposed for about a week. Prevention and treatment of fish red skin, rotten gills and other diseases, with 10ppm bleach powder at the water temperature of 10-15 ° C for 20-30 minutes, water temperature of 15-20 ° C for 15-20 minutes. Treatment of white head and white mouth disease, white skin disease and prevention of enteritis, with 1ppm of bleach powder evenly sprinkled throughout the pool.

Does hypochlorous acid kill good bacteria?

Does hypochlorous acid kill good bacteria?   Hypochlorous acid (HOCl) is the perfect weapon to fight germs. It hits hard against pathogens like Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus and Pseudomonas Aeroginosa. Yet this powerful weapon is 100 percent safe for humans, chemical free, non-toxic and all-natural. That’s an impressive combination. It has been used in the medical field for over a century. Before antibiotics were available, HOCl was used to irrigate and disinfect wounds in World War I.  It is now used in everyday settings including daycare centers, hospitals, and even produce sections in grocery stores. HOCl is a weak acid that occurs naturally in our body. Neutrophils are white blood cells that are the first to arrive on site when an invading pathogen is detected. Neutrophils will chase down and engulf the pathogen through phagocytosis. Upon contact, neutrophils release a burst of bactericidal chemicals including its most powerful oxidizing agent, HOCl. This kills the pathogen by tearing down the cell membranes and proteins.

The importance of disinfection of drinking water

Cancer-causing contaminants may be in your drinking water, according to a new study published in the journal Heliyon. Scientists at the Environmental Working Group (EWG) analyzed pollutants in tap water from 2010 to 2017. They found 22 carcinogenic contaminants — including arsenic, disinfection byproducts, and radioactive contaminants, such as uranium and radium — in drinking water nationwide, which researchers estimate could, over the course of an average lifetime (about 70 years), lead to 100,000 cases of cancer. The analysis found that water systems with the highest risk tend to be small groundwater systems. “These systems typically lack the resources, funding, and infrastructure to effectively manage water contamination, and arsenic — a potent carcinogen — is typically found in groundwater,” says Evans. But larger water systems aren’t necessarily safer. Evans says they also show “consistently elevated risk” because they contain disinfection byproducts, which are a result of required disinfection. “There are contaminants in drinking water that pose health risks other than cancer,” she says. So the disinfection of water is extremely important! And immediate action.
